Six out of six for Stefano Comini!

The sun was shining for the Eurocup Mégane Trophy qualifications, the third category to take to the Nürburgring, this Saturday.

Qualifying, race 1

David Dermont (TDS Racing), who has been quick so far this weekend, went to the front immediately ahead of Bas Schothorst (TDS Racing) and Stefano Comini (Oregon Team).

The pace hotted up and Comini took provisional pole until he was beaten by Schothorst. But once again the Swiss upped the pace and topped the time sheets with a lap in 2m 04.955s.

Qualifying, race 2

The second session was very similar to the first. Bas Schothorst and David Dermont led early on until Stefano Comini hit the front. The Eurocup Mégane Trophy leader went even quicker than in the first session and got round in 2m 04.153s. The statistics speak for themselves – six pole positions in six qualifying sessions!

Stefano Comini: “I ran into a little traffic in the first session, but luckily I was still able to take pole. The second one was much easier. That’s my sixth pole position although I feel that my rivals are getting closer and closer. I’m a bit worried about the weather. I know that if it rains, it won’ be so easy for me. I’ve almost never driven this car in the wet.”
